Waldorf University has been granted membership into the Order of the Sword & Shield, a National academic and professional Honor Society for Homeland Security, Intelligence, Emergency Management, Cyber and Information Security, and all Protective Security Disciplines. Founded in 2010, the mission of the Society promotes critical thinking, high scholarship, professional development, and enhanced ethical standards for protective security professionals.

Waldorf University’s high standards for our students are mirrored in the values expected out of the members of the Order of the Sword & Shield: excellence, knowledge, ethics, and peace. As members of Waldorf’s chapter of this National Honor Society, students will receive public recognition as an outstanding student, opportunity to participate in activities that promote student interests, opportunities to develop skills in organization-sponsored events, and life-long membership in an active organization dedicated to enhancing the profession.

Eligibility Requirements for Waldorf Students:

  • Completion of at least one half of the total number of credits required for graduation, including completion of one half of all credits in the Homeland Security, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or Emergency Management program (A.S., B.S., Minor, Master’s, or Certificate program).
  • Have achieved an overall 3.25 (undergraduate) or 3.5 (graduate) cumulative GPA or higher (on a scale of 4.0) for ALL credits, including transfer credits, or be in the top 20% of your class standing.
  • Submit all required information, supporting documents with references, and appropriate fees.
