Census Bureau: More women than men in Algona in 2019

Of the 5,447 people living in Algona in 2019, 52 percent (2,834) were women and 48 percent (2,613) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the North Iowa Reporter.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 1,520-to-1,400. In the 65 and over age range, there were 878 females and 548 males.
