City of Clear Lake issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.

Does anyone else feel the buzz in the air?  That little ‘zap’ of electricity flitting through the atmosphere this week?

The energy.  The excitement.

It’s invigorating!!

We’ve had an amazing week at the Chamber, to say the least. The highlight being the official kick-off of our fundraising efforts set forth by the Board of Directors.  It's been a humbling experience as 62 businesses and individuals have contributed so far, getting us to approximately 1/3 of our goal.

THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated so generously. As of 8AM this morning, we've had 62 businesses and individuals choose to be ALL IN for Clear Lake and the Chamber with contributions totaling just shy of $8,000.  That puts us at about 40% of our$20,000 goal.

Another incredible happening this week was the annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast held on Wednesday morning.  This year, due to COVID, we had to split the faculty into two groups to better utilize the space and manage the crowds.

Thus, the elementary staff was served a tasty breakfast, while the middle school and high school teachers received a delicious boxed lunch.  Even under the masks, you could see the smiles of everyone who attended.  Happy to be back.  Happy to see their co-workers again.

And mostly… happy to receive the AWESOME gifts from our community sponsors!

These businesses totally went above and beyond this year, creating unique, stylish, super-fun gift baskets and bags for the school staff.  Check them out!!
