The Neighborhood Food Bank and nurses from Winnebago County Public Health are stepping up their efforts to assist those who are in dire need because of the COVID-19 fallout, KIOW reported.
The two organizations have united in order to provide and deliver food to those who might not be able to get around as easily.
Bonnie Nyhus, who works with the food bank told KIOW, “We also are changing our hours so that we’re open Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Thursday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. to give more people the opportunity to come into the food bank.”
Still, in order to keep going strong, there’s no denying that donations are needed from the community and those who can help. The food bank is accepting non-perishable items and products that are hard to come by, like toilet paper and paper towels.
Those who want to donate money can send it to Neighborhood Food Bank, Box 185, Forest City, IA 50436.
