Small businesses in Cerro Gordo County adversely affected by COVID-19 can pre-apply by April 17 for grants up to $5,000 to help them stay in business.
Businesses experiencing disruption and revenue losses due to COVID-19 can apply for grants through the North Iowa Small Business Recovery & Continuity Fund, according to the website.
North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation, Cerro Gordo County and the cities of Mason City and Clear Lake launched the fund that will give businesses short-term cash for things such as lease/mortgage payments and utilities.
Pre-application to determine eligibility is available and is due by Friday, April 17. Businesses meeting certain criteria will receive full applications.
The first review of full applications will begin Friday, April 17, and continue weekly until funds are expended, according to a press release.
The program’s goal is to help Cerro Gordo County companies maintain operations during the COVID-19 pandemic or to reopen afterwards, according to a press release.
