All Bremer County buildings, including the courthouse, annex, police department, sheriffs department and more have been ordered to close by the Bremer County Board of Supervisors on March 25.

The buildings are all closing in an effort to prevent the mass spread of the coronavirus.

With the doors closing, the county businesses will still remain open. All of the county buildings that have locked their doors will still do business by phone, email, or regular mail, as well as provide drop boxes on the outside of the buildings for payments and other things that need to be dropped off.

There is an option for a face-to-face appointment in the event that business cannot be done any other way, however, if anyone is showing signs of illness, officials suggest staying at home until the condition improves.

This action comes after an emergency meeting that was held in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. With the pandemic spreading at a rapid rate, officials closed down the official buildings to limit the spread of the illness.
