The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors, at a recent meeting, has put in place some significant infrastructure improvements.

County projects approved by the board include paving work to be done at B43, which involves B43 between Highway 65 and Highway S56. A culvert over a Winnebago River tributary is part of the approved plan as well as resurfacing out to the Floyd County line.

A five-year plan is in place to handle the B43 project, which was initially a nine-mile project, but that has been reduced to a four-mile plan based on what fits in the budget, according to the county.

For the resurfacing project, it will stay on as part of  five-year plan officials say and will coincide with a three-bridge replacement project located in proximity to Rockwell that will be done by the Iowa Department f Transportation. The project date is slated for April through November and will head over the east branch of the Beaverdam Creek north of B-60 for one bridge and ending just south of B-55.

The board decided to amend its five-year plan with $121,000 for a FEMA culvert on 225th Street.
